zOpt Okta Configuration Guide

 
How to set up Okta Single Sign-On integration

Okta Single Sign-On integration allows you to initiate Single Sign-On (OpenID Connect) from Okta. Additionally, it automatically creates a user account in zOpt upon your first login via Okta SSO.

​

To integrate zOpt with your Okta instance, follow these steps

 

1. Add the zOpt application from the Okta Integration Network (OIN) to your Okta instance.

2. Verify that you have an active zOpt account.

3. The Okta Single Sign-On integration is available on all zOpt plans.

4. Ensure that the email addresses of your zOpt users align with their corresponding Okta accounts.

5. Please collect the necessary information and send it to zOpt support.

Configuration Steps

After installing the zOpt application from the OIN, you’ll need to collect specific information from your Okta instance and provide it to zOpt support. Additionally, you must ensure that the Client ID is correctly configured within the Okta Application.

1. Gather Information from Okta

  • Navigate to the zOpt application in your Okta admin dashboard.

  • Go to the “Sign On” tab.

  • Copy the values of “Client ID” and “Client secret” (click the eye icon to reveal the secret).

  • Click on the “OpenID Provider Metadata” link.

  • In the JSON document that appears, find the value associated with the “issuer” key and copy the URL.

2. Gather zOpt Information

  • Please provide the base URL of your zOpt installation. For instance, if your users access zOpt at acme.zopt.ai, the base URL is acme.zopt.ai.

3. Send Information to zOpt Support

  • Compile the following information: 

    • Client ID

    • Client Secret

    • Issuer URL

  • Send this information via email to support@zopt.ai.

  • Once the integration is configured on our end, we’ll notify you via email.

4. Edit zOpt App in Okta

  • In the “Sign On” tab of your zOpt application in Okta, locate the “Edit” button in the upper-right corner. 

  • Scroll down to the “ADVANCED SIGN-ON SETTINGS” section and find the “Client ID” field. 

  • Paste your Okta Client ID into this field and click “Save".

Notes
  • To enhance the onboarding experience for new users, consider creating a welcome message or tutorial within zOpt.

  • Additionally, please ensure that the email addresses used in Okta align with the email addresses you intend to use in zOpt.

  • If you encounter any questions or issues during the setup process, don’t hesitate to reach out to support@zopt.ai.

  • Lastly, if you’re using a custom domain with zOpt, make sure the redirect URI is configured correctly with that domain.
